Tamra Nottingham Underwood is a fourth generation Avonite and has lived in the Vail and Eagle River valleys since 1968. She attended Eagle County schools from kindergarten, graduating from Battle Mountain High School. Tamra has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Colorado and a law degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Early in her over 30-year legal career, Tamra was the Town of Avon prosecutor. She served as in-house legal counsel to Vail Resorts for nine years and Booth Creek Ski Holdings for 11 years; since 2010 Tamra has operated her solo transactional law practice from Avon. Tamra first served on Avon Town Council from 2004 – 2008 including a two-year term as Mayor Pro Tem. Tamra was elected to her current 4-year council term in 2018. Tamra and her husband, Darien, raised their two children in Avon and especially enjoy their time at the river and on the lake.
