Pizza for Climate Action - Purchase Renewable Energy through Holy Cross Energy on October 29^th and Get a Free Slice of Pizza

Avon, CO: The Town of Avon, in partnership with the Climate Action Collaborative and Holy Cross Energy, is hosting an event to promote the purchase of renewable energy through Holy Cross Energy’s Powered by 100% Renewable Energy (PuRE) program. On Tuesday, October 29^th from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. anyone who shows up to the Avon Pazzo’s, located at 82 E. Beaver Creek Boulevard in Avon, and signs up for 100% renewable energy through the Holy Cross Energy PuRE program will receive a FREE SLICE OF PIZZA. Holy Cross Energy members who have have already signed up can bring their most recent Holy Cross Energy electric bill to Pazzo’s on October 29^th and they will also get a free slice of pizza. Holy Cross Energy and Climate Action Collaborative reps will be on hand to assist people with the online sign-up process.

Purchasing renewable energy through the Holy Cross Energy PuRE program is an easy, affordable action individuals can take to lower their carbon footprint.  When you purchase renewable electricity through Holy Cross Energy, you’re contributing to a cleaner grid.  Members subscribing to the PuRE program help Holy Cross Energy and its communities accelerate the transition to a clean energy future.. Electricity represents 31% of the carbon emissions in Eagle County. The more renewable energy we bring on the electric grid, the faster those emmissions drop, eventually moving towards net zero emissions.
 
Currently only 2.8% of Eagle County Holy Cross Energy members participate in the renewable purchasing program. That means 97.2% of us have a big opportunity to make a measurable difference on climate! It may be surprising to find out that for a modest three-bedroom house and a family of four, the average monthly increase to be 100% renewable averages out to be about $5.40 per month. That is about the cost of a cup of coffee and it would reduce CO2 emmissions into the atmosphere by 10,030 pounds annually.
