West Benchmark Road Closure Begins

Road will be closed for up to four weeks between Mikaela Way and
Lake Street

Avon, CO: West Benchmark Road will be closed at Mikaela Way, including the intersection, for road construction beginning Monday, September 30^th for up to four weeks. Access to the Avon Public Library will be allowed from the north on Mikaela Way.  This project includes the addition of 26 on-street parking spaces along West Benchmark Road, sidewalk realignment by Mikaela Way, construction of an underground water quality vault, and drainage improvements to prevent the flooding of the Avon Public Library’s lower floor area. The stormwater quality vault will collect runoff from Mikaela Way, the Recreation Center parking lot and the Avon Town Hall parking lot to remove pollutants before discharging into the Eagle River. The project budget, as approved by the Avon Town Council, is $581,000.
