Finance Committee Forming

Avon is seeking community members to serve on the Ad Hoc Finance Committee

Applications will be accepted through September 4, 2019

Avon, CO – The Town of Avon is seeking interested community members to serve on the Ad Hoc Finance Committee (“Finance Committee”).  Duties of the Finance Committee include:

1. To review, research and study the Town’s tax and fee structure and sources of revenue, including but not limited to: (i) comparisons to both incorporated and unincorporated peer communities, (ii) potential volatility associated with various revenue sources, and (iii) determining the percentage of revenues attributable to residents, second home owners, visitors and businesses;

2. To review, research and study the Town’s economy as it relates to the Town’s finances;

3. To prepare reports as appropriate to assist the Town Council and the general public to better understand the Town’s finances;

4. To make recommendations to the Town Council consist with this Resolution; and,

5. To perform such other tasks related to the Town’s finances as the Town Council may request.

Eligible persons include: residents of the Town, property owners in the Town, and owners and employees of a business located in the Town.  If you are interested, please submit a Letter of Interest.  The Letter of Interest should state your interest in serving on the Finance Committee, describe your eligibility to be on the Finance Committee (i.e. resident, property owner, etc.), and describe any relevant experience that would benefit the Finance Committee.
 
The Finance Committee will regularly meet on the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Avon Town Hall.
 
The deadline to submit a Letter of Interest is September 4, 2019.  Please submit your letter of interest to: Preston Neill, Deputy Town Manager at pneill@avon.org.  Letters of interest may also be delivered to Avon Town Hall, located at 100 Mikaela Way, Avon, or mailed to PO Box 975 Avon, CO 81620, ATTN: Preston Neill, Deputy Town Manager.
 
Interviews with the Avon Town Council will be scheduled for September 10 at 6:00 pm.
