At the February 26th Avon Town Council meeting, the Town Council passed a motion to refer a survey question to registered Avon voters concerning the Hahnewald Barn Phase 1 Project. The Town Council has received substantial public input in support and in opposition to the Hahnewald Barn Phase 1 Project, which led to their decision to solicit input from all registered voters in a community survey format. Phase 1 of the Hahnewald Barn Project would include moving the Hahnewald Barn to the old Town Hall site and placing the structure on a permanent foundation in order to permanently preserve the barn. The cost estimate for Phase 1 is $1 million for moving and preservation of the Hahnewald Barn, plus $600,000 for demolition of the old Town Hall.
