Avon, CO – The Avon Whitewater Park is currently under renovation, consisting of maintenance activities to the three whitewater features located near the Avon Road Bridge. There is one feature downstream of the Avon Road bridge and 2 upstream of the bridge. The Whitewater Park has experienced some changes as a result of spring runoff over the last several years. The features need to be updated to make them more effective and enjoyable for kayakers and other boaters.

The project includes relocating and resetting approximately 550 tons of boulders within the channel with an Excavator. Equipment will be operating in the main channel to construct temporary diversion structures and relocate and place existing boulders. Equipment will be accessing the channel downstream of Avon Road Bridge at the existing boat ramp. 
The project started at the end of January and is expected to be completed by the end of March.
