Don’t Let Potholes Drive You Nuts!

Report Potholes to Avon Public Works Department through online form

Avon, CO – It’s pothole season again and the Avon Public Works Department is on alert and ready to fix them as quickly and efficiently as possible. Freeze-and-thaw weather cycles help produce potholes when icy water and snow seep into concrete and asphalt, solidify then expand to cause cracks that widen into potholes as vehicles drive over them. Please report potholes using the “Pothole Notice” form, available at www.avon.org/pothole.

Public Works Director Gary Padilla said, “Right now, we can temporarily fix the pot holes by filling them by hand.  As soon as things thaw out, probably in May, we will put a more permanent fix to the potholes. Our goal is to keep Town roads safe and drivable.”

The Avon Public Works Department is responsible for maintenance of over 60 lane miles of roadway, six bridges, four railroad overpasses and crossings, eight miles of sidewalk, and over 25 miles of gravel shoulder and ditch lines.
