East Benchmark Road Closed to Thru Traffic on Monday, September 18, 2017
Construction of the Town of Avon 2017 Street Improvements Project is currently under way. On Monday, September 18, 2017, East Benchmark Road will be closed to thru traffic east of the Christy Sports entrance north to the Beaver Creek Place intersection to facilitate construction of concrete paving and crosswalks. The duration of the closure is approximately seven days. Access to area businesses will be maintained via alternate entrances. The 2017 Street Improvements Project consists of asphalt milling, repair, overlay and striping of East Benchmark Road, Beaver Creek Place, and Nottingham Road. The Project includes replacement of select sections of concrete curb and gutter, replacement of concrete sidewalk and curb ramps to achieve ADA compliance, and the addition of approximately 650’ of sidewalk along the north side of Nottingham Road west of Buck Creek Road. Work will be performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The Project will require temporary lane closures during construction and traffic control will be in place. Motorists may encounter minor delays and are asked to remain patient and to please allow additional travel time. The Project will take approximately 6 weeks to complete and is being constructed by Oldcastle SW Group, Inc. on behalf of the Town.
