Town of Avon Hosts Community Forums to Discuss Strengthening Avon's Arts and Cultural Community

The forums will discuss opportunities for adaptive reuse of the Avon Fire Station

Avon, CO – Artspace™ is a nonprofit organization, which specializes in live/work and adaptive reuse of buildings for the arts.  They will be in town next Monday and Tuesday, and the Town is welcoming those interested to attend and share your thoughts.  Anna Growcott and Wendy Holmes, who are leaders with the organization and help communities form strategic partnerships to foster the creative arts, will facilitate two sessions.  Each session will explore the importance of arts in daily community life and discuss how to support the arts in Avon.  The forums are expected to identify next steps to building a strong artist-led consortium in Avon.  Time will also be spent in exploring adaptive reuse opportunities for the Avon Fire Station, which sits next to the library, and is being vacated in the coming months.

Please consider attending one of the upcoming 90 minute forums to take part in this process!  Both sessions will be held at the Avon Council Chambers, One Lake Street.

Monday – September 18 @ 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday – September 19 @ 8:00 a.m.

For room planning, please RSVP to mpielsticker@avon.org or by calling 970.748.4413.
