Avon to Mull Prohibitions on Single-Use Plastic Bags and Polystyrene Foam Disposable Food Service Ware
Avon, CO – The Avon Town Council is proposing the adoption of two new ordinances. One would enact a ban on grocers and retailers from providing single-use plastic carryout bags at the point of sale, and require a fee of $0.10 be applied to single-use paper carryout bags. The other would prohibit food vendors from using polystyrene foam disposable food service ware. First reading of both ordinances will take place at the September 12, 2017, Avon Town Council meeting at Avon Town Hall. The Plastic Bag Reduction Ordinance is slated to begin at 5:15 p.m. and the Polystyrene Foam Reduction Ordinance is expected to begin right after.
