Areas of Nottingham Park, Lake Street and Recreation Center Lawn to be Closed Early on September 15th


The evening closing will provide event venue logistics and a security clear zone for the Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals Concert
 

Avon, CO – With Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals coming to the Avon Performance Pavilion on the evening of Friday, September 15th, the Town of Avon will close Nottingham Park from the western edge of the beach area to Lake Street from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Park closure will include the beach, sand volleyball courts, public restrooms, playground and the park lawn areas north and south of the pedestrian path. In addition, the pedestrian path will be closed except to those using it as a thoroughfare. All other areas of Nottingham Park will remain open until 10:00 p.m. The Recreation Center western lawn will be closed as well.
 
The east and west parking lots of Avon Town Hall will be closed on September 15th from 6:00 a.m. to midnight in order to accommodate the event’s production crews. Lake Street will be closed except for local traffic and access to the Recreation Center from 6:00 a.m. to midnight. 
 
The Town of Avon apologizes for any inconvenience and greatly appreciates the patience and understanding of residents and park patrons.
 
Ben Harper’s performance at the Avon Performance Pavilion will be his only stop in Colorado, and one of three stops in the western US, as he continues his world tour.  The one-night only, evening concert will begin at 8:00 p.m., with the gate opening at 5:00 p.m.  
 
Ticket prices range from $35 to $145, plus service fees. Tickets are available at www.avon.org/benharpertickets.
 
Ben Harper is an internationally acclaimed musician, songwriter, guitarist and producer.  Playing an eclectic mix of rock, blues, folk, soul and reggae music, he is a three-time Grammy Award winner. Ben has released 14 studio albums and three live albums since 1994. He is currently touring the world, with his original band the Innocent Criminals, supporting their latest release Call It What It Is.
