Construction on the 2017 Street Improvements Project started on Wednesday, August 30th
Christy Sports and Loaded Joes bus stops to close temporarily
Avon, CO – The Town of Avon began construction on the 2017 Street Improvements Project on Wednesday, August 30th. The 2017 Street Improvements Project will consist of asphalt milling, repair, overlay and striping of Nottingham Road, East Benchmark Road, and Beaver Creek Place. The project includes the replacement of select sections of concrete curb and gutter, replacement of concrete sidewalk and curb ramps to achieve ADA compliance, and the addition of approximately 650 feet of sidewalk along the north side of Nottingham Road west of Buck Creek Road.
Work will be performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The project will require temporary lane closures during construction and traffic control will be in place. Motorists may encounter minor delays and are asked to remain patient and to please allow for additional travel time. The project will take approximately 8 weeks to complete and is being constructed by Oldcastle SW Group, Inc. on behalf of the Town.
Traffic Impact: East Benchmark Road will be closed to thru traffic from September 5th to September 15th at 10:00 a.m.
Transit Impact: Beginning Tuesday, September 5th, the Christy Sports and Loaded Joes bus stops on East Benchmark Road will be closed until Friday, September 15th at 10:00 a.m.
