Concerts are ‘Popping Up’ in Avon All Summer
Free concert series brings string quartets, mixed string trio
and Spanish guitars to Possibility Plaza on the Main Street Mall
Friday evenings from 5:15 to 6:45 pm
Avon, CO – Pop Up Concerts are a summer tradition in Avon, taking place on Possibility Plaza on the Main Street Mall. The 90-minute concerts, on Friday afternoons in July and early August, allow locals and guests a time to unwind and relax with live classical and contemporary music. Food by Marc will feature wine and cheese pairings and other light fare and refreshing beverages each evening. The six free performances bring an eclectic array of musical styles, from classical strings to Spanish guitars, all performed by musicians from Colorado’s most esteemed symphonies and philharmonics.
The next concert is this Friday, July 14
th, and will feature musicians from the Colorado Symphony, Fort Collins Symphony, and the Denver Chamber Orchestra performing selections from the great classical composers and more contemporary creators. This Pop Up Strings Concert is sure to delight!
The July 21
st concert will feature a trio of guitar, violin and cello, playing a mix of classical-styled contemporary tunes. On July 28
th, Derek y Daniel will bring the passion and excitement of Spanish-influenced, percussive style Flamenco guitar playing to Possibilities Plaza as a Spanish Guitar Duo.
The final Pop Up Concerts will take place on August 4
th and August 11
th, featuring talent from the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, the Colorado Ballet, the Tulsa Philharmonic and Arapahoe Philharmonic performing classical and contemporary selections.
The free concerts are funded by the Town of Avon, who believe in the importance of bringing artistic and cultural entertainment into our public places for the enjoyment of our community and our visiting guests.
