Avon, CO – Audiences of all ages will get a fresh look at an old favorite on Friday, June 16th and Saturday, June 17th when the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) and 20 local children present The Tortoise Versus the Hare. The free performances will take place on the Avon Performance Pavilion stage in Harry A. Nottingham Park, and will be the culmination of a week-long residency in Avon.

Playing the title characters, the wise Coach Shelley Bowlback and the conceited Curly Hare, are local students Santiago Wilkins and Bianca Lipton. Other featured characters include Tori Wilkins as Esther Bunny, Maddie Heil as Little Bonnie Bunny and the Weasels played by Tabitha Schroeder and Griffin Heil. The scaly Reptiles will be played by Valentina Campos, Kingsley Blair and Nella Hodul, and Ariana Lipton will play the Thespian Troupe. Appearing as Curly’s rowdy posse will be Ashlyn Cookham, Hawkins Blair, Mia Hodul, Keanna Boutet, Tieg Fruin, Thomas Alvarez Bayon and Kristina Shamshyryn.
