Avon, CO – Eagle County’s community alert system underwent a service change at the end of 2016. As a result, all residents, visitors and business owners subscribed to EC Alert were encouraged to re-register at www.ecalert.org to continue receiving notifications.  
  
The change was necessary because the county’s former system for providing EC Alerts was retired. Everbridge, the system in use locally for 9-1-1 call backs, was selected as the replacement.  
  
If you are new to this service or if you have not been receiving notifications from EC Alert over the last several months but you wish to receive them,  you will need to go to www.ecalert.org and create a new account. Subscribers to the new EC Alert platform will be able to set up location-based notifications; pick areas of interest such as traffic and weather; choose delivery options including email and phones; and change their subscriptions at any time. 
  
Remember, if you choose NOT to sign up for Everbridge, you will not receive traffic or other notifications. We encourage you to take about 10 minutes to create your account.
