Avon Police Department Seeks Help from Public on a Motor Vehicle Theft


Avon, CO – The Avon Police Department needs your help. Anyone who has information in regards to a motor vehicle theft on March 12, 2017, in the Canyon Run condominiums, is asked to contact the Avon Police Department. The suspect stole a vehicle from Canyon Run condominiums and proceeded to hit two vehicles in the parking lot. Subsequently, the stolen vehicle was found in the Shell Station parking lot in Edwards.
 
If anyone was in the area of Canyon Run condominiums or the Edwards Shell Station between the hours of 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 12th and may have observed anyone acting suspiciously, please call the Avon Police Department at 970-748-4040. You may also call Eagle County Crime Stoppers at 970-328-7007 or 1-800-972-TIPS, submit your tip online at www.tipsubmit.com, or text a tip from your cell phone by texting STOPCRIME plus your message to CRIMES (274637). If your tip leads to the arrest and indictment of any suspect involved, you could earn up to a $1,000 reward from the Crime Stoppers. Persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  
 
The Avon Police Department would like to remind and encourage residents to remain alert in your neighborhood, particularly during nighttime hours. Report anything unusual or suspicious to the police. Please call 911 if you have a concern and do not attempt to contact or engage a suspicious person. For your safety, an Avon police officer will make any necessary contacts. As a common practice, please secure your property by locking all of the doors and windows to your homes and vehicles.
