Avon Police Searching for Suspect Accused of Attempted Robbery
Avon, CO – Avon police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred at the Game Stop store in the Traer Creek Plaza area of Avon. On March 23rd at approximately 8:10 p.m., an armed suspect approached Game Stop employees as the store was being locked up. The suspect did not take anything and none of the employees were injured.
The suspect is believed to have been armed with a handgun and is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, stocky build, and between 25 and 35 years old. He was wearing all black clothing with a black facemask and a tan colored backpack.
The response to this incident included support from the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado State Patrol and the Eagle River Fire Protection District.
According to Greg Daly, Chief of Police, “Avon police officers and detectives are actively investigating this incident. At this time, there is no concern that this suspect is a threat to members of the general public.”
If anyone was in the area of Traer Creek Plaza between the hours of 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. last night and may have observed anyone acting suspiciously, please call the Avon Police Department at 970-748-4040.
