Avon Section of Eagle Valley Trail Complete
Ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for Thursday, December 1st
Avon, CO – The last phase of the Eagle Valley Trail through Avon is complete, connecting Avon Road to Stonebridge Drive. Construction for the project began in mid-May and wrapped up last week. The new section of multi-use path improves safety for pedestrians and cyclists by providing a route removed from Highway 6, improved path lighting, and a new bus shelter at Eaglebend Apartments. Ultimately, the planned 63-mile Eagle Valley Trail will contribute to nearly 193 miles of continuous paved trail for walkers, bikers, and other recreationists in the intermountain region.
The Town partnered with CDOT and ECO Trails in constructing this phase of the project and with ECO Trails and Great Outdoors Colorado on the 2014 Bridges Project. Eaglebend Apartments granted easements to facilitate construction of the trail and appurtenances. The last phase of the Trail was constructed by Ewing Trucking & Construction, LLC. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, December 1
st at 1:00 p.m. near the new Eaglebend bus shelter to recognize the opening of the new section of recreational path.
