Important Message Regarding Changes to EC Alert
Eagle County’s community alert system will undergo a service change on Oct. 31. As a result, all residents, visitors and business owners already subscribed to EC Alert will need to re-register at www.ecalert.org to continue receiving notifications.
The change is necessary because the county’s current provider for EC Alerts is retiring the system. Everbridge, the system in use locally for 9-1-1 call backs, has been selected as the replacement.
If you wish to continue receiving these kinds of notifications, you will need to go to ecalert.org and create a new account. Subscribers to the new EC Alert platform will be able to set up location-based notifications; pick areas of interest such as traffic and weather; choose delivery options including email and phones; and change their subscriptions at any time.
Remember, if you choose NOT to sign up for Everbridge, you will no longer receive traffic or other notifications as of Nov. 1. We encourage you to take about 10 minutes to create your account.
