Avon Town Council Scheduled to Review Facility Venues & Special Event Investments on September 21st

Avon, CO – The Avon Town Council will review the investments it has made in special event venues and   funding on September 21st at 6:30 p.m. at Avon Town Hall. The three year review (2013 – 2016) is tied to Avon’s annual strategic plans, which set forth the Town’s direction for expanding Avon’s special event offerings. Since 2013, the Town Council approved significant funding to develop special event venues, provide event seed funding and launched a focused effort to bring more vibrancy and cultural offerings to Avon.

Over the past three years, the number of programmed events has grown from seven days to 30 event days this year. The events have been varied, including paid ticket and free multi-day music festivals, concerts, dance performances, athletics, symphony orchestra, yoga workshops, string quartets and nonprofit fundraisers.

Town staff has prepared a Review of the Town of Avon Special Event Venues & Funding Investments report for the Council, which will be available on September 16th at www.avon.org. The report will be presented at the meeting on September 21st, followed by Council questions and then public comment will be taken.  It is expected that Town Council will provide direction   for the next phase of special event production in Avon and funding guidelines.
