Five Candidates Will Run to Fill Three Open Town Council Seats in Avon

Avon, CO:  Town Clerk Debbie Hoppe has released the names of candidates running to fill vacant Council seats. Each candidate filed a nomination petition on or before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 as required for the election on November 8, 2016. Ms. Hoppe has verified the ten (10) required signatures of registered voters needed for the nomination petitions. The qualified candidates are Peter Buckley, Trevor Spinks, Jennie Fancher, Jake Wolf, and Amy Phillips.

Three (3) seats are open on the seven (7) person council. Mayor Jennie Fancher and Mayor Pro Tem Jake Wolf have each served four (4) years and are eligible to run under Avon’s term limit. Councilor Buz Reynolds did not file a petition for re-election as he has reached the term limit.
