Town of Avon Launches New SunsetSUP Race Series  
 

In partnership with Stand-Up Colorado, Avon’s new SunsetSUP Races series is this Friday, August 19^th  

 
Avon, CO – SunsetSUP race series begins this Friday, August 19^th on Nottingham Lake in Harry A. Nottingham Park. This inaugural SUPer fun SUP race series on Nottingham Lake offers paddlers a chance to win cash prizes and bragging rights! Compete with other paddlers and meet new paddling enthusiasts at SunsetSUP. Registration is open now and only $15 for adults to compete and free to kids ages fourteen and under.
 
Adults can complete in two categories, Unlimited which includes hard and inflatable boards between 12’6 to 14’ in length or Stock which include hard and inflatable boards 11’ in length and under. “Adults battle for first, second and third place with winners taking home cold hard cash,” stated Danita Dempsey, Culture, Arts & Special Events Manager at the Town of Avon. “We launched Paddle Battles last year our and community had a fun time. The success of Paddle Battles last year at the inaugural Summer’s End event and the enjoyment had hanging out at Nottingham Lake, provided the perfect spring board to begin the SunsetSUP race series. We are thrilled to partner with SUP CO to bring this race series to life with hopes of growing in the future,” Ms. Dempsey continued. 
 
We invite participants and their families to stick around after SunsetSUP is finished for a family-friendly free movie in Harry A. Nottingham Park at Lakeside Cinema.
 
Transportation & Parking: The use of public transportation is encouraged, as well as walking or riding a bike to the park. Free parking is available.
