AvonLIVE! Free Concert Series This Wednesday, July 20^th presents Sierra Hull

The Town of Avon presents free community concerts

 
Avon, CO – Join us at the Avon Performance Pavilion in Harry A. Nottingham Park for another rendition of AvonLIVE! on Wednesday, July 20^th starting at 5:00 p.m. Sierra Hull performs at 7:00 p.m. In her first 25 years alone, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Sierra Hull hit more milestones than many musicians accomplish in a lifetime. After making her Grand Ole Opry debut at the age of 10, the Tennessee-bred virtuoso mandolinist played Carnegie Hall at age 12, then landed a deal with Rounder Records just a year later. Now 28-years-old, Hull is set to deliver her fourth full- length for Rounder: an elegantly inventive and endlessly captivating album called 25 Trips.  
 
Revealing her profound warmth as a storyteller, 25 Trips finds Hull shedding light on the beauty and chaos and sometimes sorrow of growing up and getting older. To that end, the album’s title nods to a particularly momentous year of her life, including her marriage to fellow bluegrass musician Justin Moses and the release of her widely acclaimed album Weighted Mind—a Béla Fleck- produced effort nominated for Best Folk Album at the 2017 Grammy Awards. 
 
“There’s a lot of push-and-pull on this record, where in some moments I feel like everything’s happening so fast and I wish I could slow it all down so I can really enjoy it,” Hull points out. “But then there are also times where I’m looking forward to the day when the craziness has died down a bit, and life’s a little calmer.” 
 
Opening for Sierra Hull is Colorado’s own Tenth Mountain Division.  Born in the fertile breeding grounds of the mountains of Colorado, Tenth Mountain Division is continuing the musical legacy set down by their forefathers in Colorado. Like those that came before, Tenth Mountain Division is pushing the sound found in the mountains into bold, new directions with their exploratory take on Americana that dips freely in the well of all their diverse influences, classic Southern Rock, the progressive bluegrass that was born in their backyard in Colorado, the adventurous spirit of sixties psychedelic blues, and straight ahead driving rock ‘n’ roll.  Much like their Colorado predecessors, Leftover Salmon, String Cheese Incident, and Yonder Mountain String Band, they defy simple categorization; instead, they reference their musical history with their high-energy shows as they blaze new musical paths every night.  As they do so they have become the new voice of the Colorado music scene, taking their Ski-party sound around the country and making every show feel like a night in the mountains.
 
The Town of Avon would like to remind guest to leave personal alcohol at home and purchase from the Hahnewald Bar during AvonLIVE! as open container does not apply within the liquor boundary of AvonLIVE!   

AvonLIVE! is free to the public and are fun for all ages. The Town of Avon is honored to bring once again the AvonLIVE! free community concert series at the Avon Performance Pavilion, at Harry A. Nottingham Park, on Wednesdays throughout the summer. The event features vendors offering tasty food selections and a collection of craft brews, wine, refreshing spirits and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase at the Hahnewald Bar.

“AvonLIVE! is a plastic-free event so please leave your plastic beverage containers at home and purchase a recyclable canned product from the Hahnewald Bar or bring your own fillable water bottle,” stated Danita Dempsey, Culture, Arts & Special Events Manager for the Town of Avon. Please no glass bottles in the park.
