AvonLIVE! Free Concert Series Returns Wednesday, July 28^th featuring Ozomatli

Free community concerts are presented by the Town of Avon

Avon, CO – Once again we invite the community to join us on Wednesday, July 28^th at the Avon Performance Pavilion in Harry A. Nottingham Park as we head outside for another AvonLIVE! free concert.  This week’s headliner Ozomatli is sure to get the audience moving and grooving when the performance begins at 7:00 p.m.

Since the Ozomatli inception in 1995, innovation and creativity have defined Ozomatli. Hailing from Los Angeles, the group found a way to represent the city's eclectic culture through music that appeals to the local community and the world beyond. Ozomatli's success is exemplified in an impressive variety of genres from classic to modern Latino, urban, hip-hop, and other world styles. The "Dioses del Baile," or "Gods of Dance," have created one of the most exciting, captivating, and flat-out fun live shows touring today. They continue to harness their musical instincts by conceiving new concepts and forging new sounds that keep fans on their toes and the world dancing.

Tierro Band with Bridget Law opens the evening’s musical offering. Tierro Lee plays guitar and has been composing instrumental music for two decades. This band represents Tierro’s most heartfelt compositions reminiscent of various world music styles including Arabian, Celtic and Latin scales. Accompanied by Bridget Law (member of Elephant Revival) on fiddle and vocals, Charlie Parker Mertens on bass and Jonny Jyemo on drums, this super group naturally stokes the energetic fire and offers an uplifting dance experience with out of this world improvisation.

“Once again, the Hahnewald Bar will be selling an assortment of ice-cold refreshing libations which are now available at a discounted rate for the entire show,” stated Danita Dempsey, Culture, Arts & Special Events Manager for the Town of Avon.  Pair something from the bar with fare from one of the local food trucks.

AvonLIVE! is a plastic-free event.  Please leave your plastic beverage containers at home and purchase a recyclable canned product from the Hahnewald Bar or bring your own fillable water bottle.
