Avon Town Clean-Up Day Returns on Saturday, June 5^th   

Avon Clean Up Week begins Monday, June 7^th

Avon, CO – Be sure to mark your calendars and come out to celebrate the changing seasons with a little spring cleaning! On Saturday June 5^th, the Town will host the seventh annual Town Clean-Up Day event, giving volunteers a chance to clean up Avon after a long winter season.

Volunteer check-in is at 10:00 a.m. after which Team Captains will take volunteer groups to assigned clean up zones. Everyone will meet back at Town Hall between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to enjoy live music featuring Dina & Mauricio, ice cold beer and delicious food provided by Ein Prosit.

Clean Up Week begins Monday
Avon Clean Up Week will begin on Monday, June 7^th and continues through Saturday, June 12^th. If Avon residents have unwanted materials, including large items such as washers, dryers or furniture, now is the time to throw them away. Best of all, removal is free!

Starting Wednesday, June 2^nd, Avon residents can contact the Avon Public Works Department to schedule a pick up for the following week. Public Works staff will come to your home to pick up the materials curbside between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  All items must be placed curbside. Town staff will take materials to the landfill free of charge.

The Public Works Department will take almost anything. Exceptions include yard waste, tires and construction trash, hazardous and toxic waste such as paints, motor oil, batteries and electronics.  Residents may take their old electronic equipment, or components (e-waste) to the Eagle County Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Wolcott located by the landfill.  Refrigerators and freezers will not be collected, but individuals can take these items to the Eagle County Landfill for recycling as long as the Freon has been removed, documentation will be needed showing Freon has been removed.

A special thanks to Waste Management, who will be donating the dumpsters for use during Avon Clean Up Week.
