Avon Seeks Community Members to Serve on Planning and Zoning Commission

Applications will be accepted through April 21^st to fill vacancies

Avon, CO – The Town of Avon is seeking community members to volunteer for the Planning and Zoning Commission (PZC). In May, four positions will be vacated and filled by appointment by the Avon Town Council.  Interviews and appointments will take place at the April 27^th Town Council Meeting.

The seven-member board helps shape policy and land use decisions within the Town of Avon. The Commission is responsible for guiding coordinated development within the Town’s boundaries as well as helping to implement the goals and policies of the Avon Comprehensive Plan. 

Since it also serves as a Design Review Board for the Town, Design Professionals are highly encouraged to apply.   

The PZC meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 5:00 p.m. at Avon Town Hall.  Members receive a $100 per meeting stipend and an Avon Recreation Center pass for their service. The Commission is comprised of at least five of the seven members being registered electors of Avon at the time of appointment, two of which are industry professionals including architects, landscape architects or designers.

Applications will be accepted through April 21^st, with interviews scheduled for the April 27^th Town Council meeting.  An application, cover letter and resume, with at least three (3) references can be submitted to the Town of Avon, Human Resources Department, P.O. Box 975, Avon, CO 81620, emailed to jobs@avon.org; or dropped off in the drop box located in the front doorway at Avon Town Hall, 100 Mikaela Way, Avon.
