Avon Terrace Closed to Public

Avon, CO – The Avon Terrace behind the Avon Pavilion stage has been closed to the general public due to a new public health order that restricts gathering to 10 persons and due to liability concerns from repeated jumping and diving into the water from the Terrace railing. “It is unfortunate that I had to take action to close the Terrace to general public use,” says Town Manager Eric Heil, “but we were observing daily gatherings without social distancing and constant disregard for the ‘No Diving’ signs.” The Avon Town Council may discuss the issue at their July 28th meeting. The closure does not apply to Avon Recreation Center fitness classes, SunsetLIVE! or other events where Town Staff is present to enforce health and safety restrictions.

The Avon Police Department will enforce the closure. Violations are subject to fines and imprisonment and will be prosecuted by Town of Avon. Please contact Avon Town Manager Eric Heil with any questions at eheil@avon.org or (970) 748-4004.
