Avon, CO – The Avon Town Manager has suspended the $0.10 paper bag fee effectively immediately to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Grocery stores have reported that they will no longer directly handle reusable bags and that customers will be required to bag their own groceries if they use their own reusable bags. The suspension of the $0.10 paper bag fee will continue until the state and county health orders related to the COVID-19 pandemic are lifted.   

Governor Polis requested local governments throughout Colorado waive any disposable bag fees which request is now implemented by the Town of Avon. The prohibition of single-use disposable plastic bags set forth Section 8.38.030(B) of the Avon Municipal Code remains in full force and effect. Please see Town Manager Regulation A for more information.
