For Immediate Release | November 23, 2015

Beginning November 30, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. every Monday night, the Avon Police Department will be hosting the 5th Annual open drop-in gym for basketball at Avon Elementary School for 4th grade through 12th grade students. The program will run into early spring 2016 and is free to participants.
This program is a great opportunity for our community youth to meet and interact with the Town’s police officers in a fun and positive atmosphere. Last year saw 15 to 20 youths enjoying the game of basketball every Monday. Children are our future and building positive relationships with law enforcement is a great opportunity for future success in crime prevention and community relations.
Chief Ticer (who has been known to shoot a few hoops in his time) and the officers at Avon PD look forward to a fun and energetic program! See you at the Gym!
