Additionally, students had the opportunity to test their skills on the Firearms Simulator while learning to evaluate shoot/don’t shoot situations. The final day of instruction consisted of firearms instruction at a local gun range.

“I am very proud of this diverse group of community residents who have taken time out of their busy schedules to learn, give back, and support our town through community policing,” said Chief Bob Ticer. “The Avon Police Department’s mission statement is ‘Make a Difference,’ and I believe these seven fine community members have, and will, continue to make a positive difference in our neighborhoods through their partnership with the Police Department.”
