Water Service Interruption Scheduled May 29 for Avon’s Municipal District

On Thursday, May 29, the Town of Avon and the Eagle River Water and Sanitation District will be upgrading the water main adjacent to the Recreation Center. Water will be turned off at all of the public buildings in the municipal area from 4:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Buildings affected include: the Avon Municipal Building, Avon Recreation Center, Avon Fire Station, Avon Library, Nottingham Cabin and water at Harry A. Nottingham Park, such as restrooms and drinking fountains.

Due to the water shut off the Avon Recreation Center will delay opening on Thursday, May 29. The Recreation Center will open at 9:00 a.m. instead of its regular 6:00 a.m. opening time. This service interruption is temporary and will allow future water main upgrades scheduled for this summer to occur without any further impacts to the Avon Recreation Center water service.
