SunsetSUP Race this Friday  

 

In partnership with Stand-Up Colorado, Avon offers another SunsetSUP Races this Friday, July 28

 

The second SunsetSUP race is this Friday, July 28 on Nottingham Lake in Harry A. Nottingham Park at 6:00 p.m. The second race in the two-race series offers paddlers a chance to win cash prizes and bragging rights! Compete with other paddlers and meet new paddling enthusiasts at SunsetSUPRegistration is open now and only $15 for adults to compete and free to kids ages fourteen and under.

 

Adults can compete in two categories, hard and inflatable board, and kids compete in one category which includes both hard and inflatable boards. “Adults battle for first, second and third place with winners taking home cold hard cash, and kids ages 12-14 and ages 11 and under, compete for very cool prizes,” stated Danita Dempsey, Culture, Arts & Special Events Manager at the Town of Avon.  Register today and test your skills in this laid-back, local, and fun competition. SunsetSUP competition rules and guidelines are available found here.

 

We invite participants and their families to stick around after SunsetSUP for family-friendly free movies in Harry A. Nottingham Park at Lakeside Cinema showing Dora and the Lost City of Gold.

 

SunsetSUP is possible with support from SUPCO, offering inflatable stand up paddleboards’ rentals for all ages and abilities.

 

Transportation & Parking: The use of public transportation is encouraged, as well as walking or riding a bike to the park. Free parking is available.
