Updates to Avon’s E-Bike Rebate Program for Full-Time Residents

Avon Town Council increases rebate options for bikes purchased after January 1, 2023

At the March 14 Avon Town Council meeting, officials increased the rebate options for full-time Avon residents to purchase Electric bikes (E-bikes). Avon residents who purchase an e-bike in Eagle County with a minimum purchase price of $1,000 are now eligible for a $400 rebate when they complete an online application and provide proof of residency. Bikes purchased online or outside of Eagle County and used E-bikes with a minimum purchase price of $400 are now eligible for a $200 rebate.

In 2022, the Town issued 23 rebates at $200 each to Avon residents who purchased E-bikes to run errands, commute to work, and reduce carbon emissions. There is a limit of one rebate per person and two E-bike rebates per household, regardless of whether the E-bikes are new or used. Additionally, the E-bike must be used to offset vehicle mileage.

The E-bike rebate application can be completed through the Town of Avon website. The new rebate structure is only available for bikes purchased after January 1, 2023, and detailed invoices and receipts for E-bike purchases must be furnished. The rebate application and associated receipts must be received no later than 180 days from the date of purchase. Rebate checks will be distributed within 4-6 weeks of receiving the completed rebate application.

Rebates are for Avon residents only and proof of residency is required. The resident must intend to replace trips otherwise taken by an automobile by using an E-bike. There is no rebate for recreational use. Rebates are subject to change and/or discontinuation without notice. Funding is limited. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
