AvonLIVE! Free Concert Series Resumes Wednesday, August 25th featuring Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers

Free community concerts are presented by the Town of Avon

As the summer draws to a close and the evenings begin to cool down,  Avon hosts two more AvonLIVE! free concerts. Join us on Wednesday, August 25th at the Avon Performance Pavilion in Harry A. Nottingham Park for AvonLIVE! This week’s headliner Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers is sure to get the audience rockin’ when they perform at 7:00 p.m.

Fans around the world can be found singing the chorus of the Roger Clyne-penned fan-favorite “Mekong” and toasting their glasses in unison to celebrate life through rock-n-roll. But the inspiration for the song dates back to the time Roger went to Taipei, Taiwan, as a college student to teach English during the day and busk with his guitar at night for money.

Today, as Clyne prepares to record his 11th studio album, he continues to transform his life experiences, inspirations, observations, and his own muses into timeless music.  And whether he’s wearing his Converse high tops, boots or sandals, Clyne’s blend of punk rock, country-western and mariachi influences have made him, drummer PH Naffah, guitarist Jim Dalton and bassist Nick Scropos – collectively known as Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers – one of America’s best live rock-n-roll bands.

Formed in 2018 and based in Summit County, CO, the Beau Thomas Band opens for Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers at 5:30 p.m.   Up-tempo arrangements and strong soulful vocals are the backbone of the band delivering high energy soul renditions of pop, rock, hip-hop, soul and event country hits from then and now.

The Hahnewald Bar will be selling an assortment of ice-cold refreshing libations and featuring a specialty margarita for the August 25th show only.

AvonLIVE! as well as all events in Nottingham Park, is a plastic-free event.  Please leave your plastic beverage containers at home and purchase a recyclable canned product from the Hahnewald Bar or bring your own fillable water bottle.
