Colorado Issues Stringent Transit Service Guidelines
Responding to increases in COVID-19 infections, the state issued stringent Transit Service Guidelines. These sector-specific guidelines set best-practices to optimize protection and minimize public health risk.
Avon Transit will limit bus capacity to 50% of posted seated capacity. Everyone should maintain 6-feet of physical distance between non-household groups to the greatest extent possible. Drivers may have to skip stops when buses are at capacity. One window on each side of the bus will remain open to maximize ventilation.
For public health and safety, all passengers must follow the below guidelines:
• Wear a face covering over the nose and mouth while using or waiting for the bus (face coverings are not required for persons under two years of age)
• If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a face covering, please contact Avon Transit for alternate arrangements
• Board the bus from the back door only to reduce driver exposure
• Maintain 6-feet of physical distance between non-household groups to the greatest extent possible
