Nottingham Lake & Beach are Open!
From paddleboarding to picnic shelters, Nottingham Park is ready for Summer 2020!
The Town of Avon is excited to announce the opening of Nottingham Lake and Beach for the 2020 summer season! Nottingham Park is always a prominent gathering center for both everyday enjoyment and outdoor recreation opportunities. Eagle County’s amended Public Health Order, effective Monday, May 25th, allows for even more recreation opportunity in the park, and we ask all guests to follow County health guidelines.
Nottingham Lake opens for swimming on Saturday, May 23rd and SUP and pedal boat rentals will begin next week when SUP Colorado returns to the north shore of Nottingham Beach. Guests are welcome to bring their own boats or paddleboards. Non-motorized vessels less than 16 feet are allowed, and PFDs are required for all passengers. Please launch in the designated areas adjacent to the docks on the north and south sides of the lake.
Daily beach maintenance started today, and the open water swim lanes will be added in June. The Dunk N’ Dash series is expected to return to Nottingham Lake in July.
The Nottingham Park Fit Court and all Town playgrounds will reopen on Monday, May 25th, along with the basketball and volleyball courts in Nottingham Park. Pickleball and Tennis courts opened recently and have been popular places for safe recreational play.
The Nottingham Park restrooms are open, with increased cleaning and disinfection three times daily.
Picnic reservations are available for groups of 50 or less, and the barbeque grills and picnic shelters are ready and available for public use. The public is reminded that Nottingham Park grills may not be used during Stage 2 fire restrictions or a Red Flag Warning.
Nottingham Park is the crown-jewel of Avon, and we are thrilled to expand the recreational park activities in accordance with County health guidelines. All park users are asked to adhere to county health guidelines.
