Avon, CO – The Town of Avon will celebrate the spring season and the opening of Avon’s paths and trails with a free family-friendly event in Avon on Saturday, April 14th. The Denver-based band Gasoline Lollipops will perform a free concert at Gears N’ Beers, the first event in the Westin Riverfront’s Ride Avon First series. The band will take the stage at 4:30 p.m., with an alt-country sound that combines the sincerity of dirt-floor folk with the energy and rebelliousness of punk music.

The quartet has won multiple accolades and been on the bills of a number of great music festivals, including SXSW, NedFest, Divide Festival, and Higher Ground Music Festival. Winner of Denver Westword’s 2016 Best Country Artist and Colorado Daily’s “Best Boulder Band” in 2014, 2015 and 2017, the Gasoline Lollipops have toured internationally, but make Colorado their home. Their upcoming summer tour includes a sold-out show at the Macky Auditorium in Boulder, and stops at the Aggie Theater in Fort Collins, Estes Park Mountain Music Festival, Grandoozy, and headlining a show at the Bluebird Theater in Denver.

The group released their debut album, Resurrection, in February of 2017 and followed it with their new album, Soul Mine, just 11 months later with the help of a Kickstarter campaign. The album delivers a variety of content that will appeal to a wide range of listeners, and is well-reviewed by fans of fusion country, rock and punk. The Denver Post called the Gasoline Lollipops “Uncompromised, vicious and authentic,” and Denver Westword called them “A group that combines elegance with grit and a rambunctious intensity.”

Gasoline Lollipops will bring a lively, heartfelt performance to the Avon Performance Pavilion on Saturday afternoon from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. The Gears N’ Beers event will also feature bike demos, family entertainment, a town-wide scavenger hunt and a pump track, with great local eats and Bonfire beer on sale. Come enjoy a free Avon event to celebrate spring and the beginning of biking season! Avon’s trails, including the West Avon Preserve, will officially open on Sunday, April 15th.
