Overview

 The Community Development Department is responsible for managing the Town's built environment and creating a livable community that balances the needs of residents, businesses, property owners and visitors.

The Department also serves as a leader in coordinating and focusing multi-departmental work efforts to address a wide range of issues including watershed management, land-use and transportation planning.

The Department provides the following services:
  • Development review for new construction and site plans
  • Supports the Planning and Zoning Commission
  • Supports the Historic Preservation Commission
  • Oversees building permits and plan reviews
  • Develops long-range and town master planning
