General Government


The General Government Department provides support to the Avon Town Council, Town Manager’s office, town-wide departments, and the citizens and businesses’ of Avon’s community. The department seeks to provide effective, timely and accurate information for council, Town staff, and the public in accessing all official documents.

The following divisions handle some of the administrative functions for Avon:

  • Town Clerk includes elections, business registration, liquor licensing, public records
  • Municipal Court is held twice per month
  • Communications includes interfacing with the public and news media and provides communications support to town departments
