Art in Avon
You may have noticed walking around town the many beautiful bronze sculptures on display. The Town of Avon is proud of its rich heritage and places a high value on public art. In 1989, Avon began its public art collection with the unveiling of "Checkmate" by cowboy artist Herb Mignery at the Town's 10th Anniversary Celebration. Since then the Town has added to its collection which now stands at 29 bronzes, many of which are located on the Main Street Mall for easy viewing. In addition, art galleries as well as individual arts have loaned Avon bronzes which are also on display throughout town.

Complementing Avon's collection, is the art on display throughout the Hoffmann Commercial Real Estate development on the east side of Avon Road. As of 2015, HCRE has invested $1 million in bronze sculptures around their properties. These sculptures along with Avon's sculptures on the Main Street Mall, provide a visual nexus from Avon Road into the east-end retail area. The bronzes are located to encourage walking through the retail stores and restaurants to see the various art pieces.
