Parks & Trails

The Town of Avon has several beautiful parks for your enjoyment, with a diverse range of recreational opportunities. From the thrill of roaring rapids and whitewater features at Avon's Whitewater Park, to the peace and quiet of a sunset over Nottingham Lake, Avon's parks and fields are available for public and private use.
Town parks are maintained by highly trained grounds-maintenance technicians, using the most up-to-date practices and equipment. We strive to maintain first-class grass conditions on the upper field, lower field and softball field, and events are deliberately scheduled in such a way that allows time for the fields to recover.

The Park Rules and Regulation apply to all parks located within Avon.

Field Rentals

All of the fields are available to rent based on availability. To check on availability or reserve an athletic field, contact the Special Events Coordinator.

Picnic Reservations

Picnic Permits are required to be submitted when 50 or less people are planning to use Nottingham Park designated Picnic Shelters. Picnic permits are issued to groups who need no special assistance from Town personnel other than securing the space. Power is not provided. Picnic permit requests must be submitted five (5) working days prior to the event. Approvals will be granted according to park availability and in order of request.

A $25.00 permit processing fee will be charged. A clean-up fee may be assessed if the facility is left in poor order.  Please submit all Picnic Permit requests and fees online through the Avon Recreation Department. For questions or special requests please contact the Recreation Services Supervisor.

Special Events

If you are looking for a place to hold your special event, contact the CASE Manager who is available to answer any questions and assist you with the process.
