Adult Leagues
About
There is no doubt that league sports are a fun way to get exercise and meet people.  The Avon Recreation Center offers you the opportunity to participate in organized adult leagues and tournaments year-round. From Broomball to Kickball, Dodgeball and even Inner Tube Water Polo, the Avon Recreation Center has something for everyone!  

Our non-competitive leagues are for people who want to participate in sports for physical fitness and fun in a social environment. Full teams and groups are welcome.  Individuals and teams looking to get involved should contract the Avon Recreation Center at 970-748-4060 for information on leagues and schedules. Individual and group fees apply.

Leagues
Broomball
Broomball is a winter sport played in ice arenas and community parks throughout the country. It is a game very similar to hockey in its formation and rules, but also incorporates some soccer strategies. No Experience Necessary!

Inner Tube Water Polo
Inner Tube Water Polo is a spinoff of the sport water polo, with participants having to compete while sitting in inflatable inner tubes. Fun for all abilities, No Experience Necessary!

Dodgeball

Dodgeball is a game in which players on two teams try to throw balls at each other while avoiding being hit themselves. There are many variations of the game, but generally the main objective of each team is to eliminate all members of the opposing team by hitting them with thrown balls.

Pickleball

Pickleball is a paddle sport for all ages and all athletic abilities. It combines elements of Badminton, Tennis & Ping-Pong. It’s Played on a Badminton sized court. A paddle is used to keep a polymer (plastic) ball going back and forth over the net.

Kickball

Kickball is very similar to that of baseball. However, instead of hitting a baseball, a Kickball player kicks a rubber ball similar to soccer. The goal is to score runs/points by running around and touching all four bases in order without getting out.

Spikeball
Spikeball is probably best described as volleyball’s distant cousin. The net used for Spikeball is small and circular and it sits on the ground at ankle level. The ball is about palm-size. Two teams play against each other with only two players on each team. The objective of the game is to smack the ball across to your opponents, just like in volleyball.
