Nottingham Lake & Cabin
The Log Cabin
The Log Cabin on Nottingham Lake serves as the central headquarters for Avon's summer activities out on the lake.  Please call the cabin at 970-748-4086 during summer months with any questions. 

Getting Here
The Log Cabin is located at the Southeast shore of Nottingham Lake. Driving directions: exit I-70 at 167, go southbound on Avon Road, head west (right) at West Benchmark Blvd (third roundabout - at the Avon Center). The road will end in the parking area for the cabin.

Summer Activities
The Log Cabin on Nottingham Lake serves as the central headquarters for Avon's summer and winter activities in the park. The Cabin will open Saturday, May 24, 2014 (Memorial Weekend) and will operate on a daily basis from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. through September 1, 2014 (Labor Day Weekend) the end of the Cabin's summer season. The Cabin has paddle boat rentals, stand up paddle board rentals, fishing poles and bait as well as concessions available. Nottingham Lake
The lake serves as a back up water supply to the area and is very carefully maintained by the Town of Avon.We need your help in keeping the lake clean so please do not swim, wade or throw trash in the lake.

Paddle Boats
Four-person paddle boats are available for rent by the hour to use on Nottingham Lake.
  • Fees: $12 per half-hour and $17 per one-hour for paddle boat rental
  • No pets are allowed on the paddle boats
  • Life jackets are provided and are required to be worn by all persons at all times
  • Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult while on the paddle boats

Athletic Equipment Rentals
Croquet sets, volleyballs, frisbees, soccer balls, footballs and basketballs are available for a $2.00 rental fee.A driver's license or credit card must be held until all equipment has been returned.Equipment is not available for overnight rental.

Fishing on Nottingham Lake
Colorado State Fishing Laws apply.Fishing may be conducted from the banks of the lake during boating hours and is permitted from the dock anytime prior to 10:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m.Fishing poles and bait can be purchased at the Log Cabin.Fishing licenses are required and can be purchased at many Avon retail stores.

Boat Registration
The Town of Avon Parks and Recreation Department must register all boats, including fly fishing float tubes, launched on Nottingham Lake.
  • The annual registration fee is $12 and forms are available at the Town of Avon beginning the first week in May.
  • After registration, boaters will receive a 2014 boat sticker which must be attached to the vessel and visible to park personnel.
  • Motorized crafts are not permitted on Nottingham Lake.
  • Boat occupants are required to wear life jackets at all times.
  • Boating is permitted through the end of September from sunrise to sunset.


Winter Activities
Public Skating
Avon Recreation's ice rinks will are open to the public for ice skating seven days a week during the winter season, weather permitting. Skating is free to anyone who has his/her own skates. Skate rentals are available to children and adults at the Recreation Center. We ask that the public heed all thin ice warning signs as well as fencing and restrictive barriers.  The Ice Rink is located adjacent to the Recreation Center next to the library and Fire Department.  
  • Date: December 15 through March 25 (Weather Permitting)
  • Time: 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday - Saturday and 12:00 p.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Fee: $8/skate rental per adult/child $5/double runners.
  • S'mores and hot chocolate are available at the Recreation Center's front desk.
