Special Event Ad Hoc Committee

The Town of Avon will be establishing its first Ad Hoc Special Events Committee. The eight person citizen’s committee will be appointed by Mayor Jennie Fancher.  Meetings can be expected initially on a monthly basis, followed by sessions scheduled, as needed. Dates and times of the meetings will be determined by the appointed group. The committee is being charged initially with the review of all proposed special events and providing recommendations to the Town Council for calendar dates and funding. The evaluation of event success and recommendations for special event solicitation will also be valuable work by the ad hoc committee.  The Town in 2016 funded private producer, free community and nonprofit fundraising events, including music, athletic and culinary offerings. The mayor plans to appoint business representatives, including but not limited to retail, restaurant and lodging, one or more event producers, and a nonprofit board or staff member to one year terms. Please send an email of interest to Jennie Fancher at . The committee will be appointed on a rolling basis.
