Avon Transit Survey Results

Leave This Blank:

The Town of Avon, in partnership with Beaver Creek Resorts, recently conducted a transit survey to understand whether Avon residents desired and supported increasing Avon's transit and multi-modal services.

Survey results indicate positive support for adding service to the Village at Avon (including Buffalo Ridge area), a Beaver Creek winter ski shuttle, and some level of service to the Wildridge area. In addition, high support was found for more pedestrian and trail improvements. All of these areas survey showed well over 60% support.

In addition, the survey revealed support for funding these additional transit and multi-modal services. Survey question 10 asked if they supported a .75 sales tax increase, 2/3 of which is paid by non-Avon residents, to fund these additional services. 67 percent of respondents answered, yes, they would support a tax increase.

In light of the results of the survey, Avon's Town Council is now considering whether to move forward with a ballot question to fund additional transit service within Avon. They will discuss the matter in depth at their Tuesday, July 14, Council meeting. Comments regarding this issue are welcome online or at Tuesday's meeting. Please feel free to comment below or to ask additional questions that would better help you understand the issue. The Town is committed to creating an open, transparent discussion of this issue. We will continue to add information on this issue to this as we are able to compile it.
