In 2018, the annual Spring Clean Up Week will be May 21 - 26, with Town Clean Up Day falling on Thursday, May 24. Removal and disposal of qualified items is free because the Town of Avon sponsors this as a service to its residents. To initiate a pick-up, please call Avon Public Works at (970) 748-4100 and leave a message as to the item(s) requiring disposal and the date when you request pickup. Then place the items at the curbside of your property. Qualifying items include: most used appliances, furniture, yard waste, regular garbage, and other items which are routinely accepted at the landfill. Public Works personnel will collect these items between the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. We regret that we cannot accommodate requests outside of these dates or collection of non-qualified items. Please note that items with special handling and disposal requirements do not qualify for this program. For example, we cannot pick up tires, construction debris, hazardous and toxic waste (e.g., paints, motor oil, batteries, etc.), fluorescent light bulbs, refrigerators and freezers.
