Town Council Appoints New Town Attorney

Avon, CO – During last evening’s regular meeting, the Avon Town Council appointed Paul Wisor to the position of Town Attorney and approved an agreement for legal services with Garfield & Hecht, P.C. Mr. Wisor’s appointment came with the endorsement of Mayor Sarah Smith Hymes, who noted that his “academic background and practical experience make him an excellent choice to serve in this leadership capacity.”

Mr. Wisor’s appointment fills a vacancy created in April when former Town Attorney Eric Heil stepped down to serve in the role of Avon Town Manager. Mr. Wisor is the third Town Attorney appointed in the last 18 years.

Mr. Wisor graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law and also holds a degree from Lehigh University. Wisor has a strong background in public finance, real estate development and land use entitlement work in connection with economic development matters. With extensive experience providing strategic advice on complex legal issues affecting municipal governance and legislation, Wisor expressed enthusiasm about his new role. “It’s an honor to serve as the next Town Attorney and work alongside our dedicated Town Council,” said Wisor.
