Town of Avon Properties Plan Hearings

Public Hearing with Planning Commission set for February 20th   

Avon, CO – The Town of Avon Planning and Zoning Commission is set to hold a public hearing and consider Town of Avon Properties Development Strategies plan. The public hearing will include a public comment period, after which the Planning and Zoning Commission will make a recommendation on the plans to the Avon Town Council.  The Town Council hearings are slated for March 13, 2018 and March 27, 2018.  All meetings begin at 5:30 p.m.

Leading up to the hearing there has been an extensive public process including: focus group meetings, open houses, engagement at town events, outreach to target communities, real time polling exercise, on-line surveys, and public meetings.  Select parcel highlights from the Town of Avon Properties Development Strategies include:
Tract G – Nottingham Park:
  • Recreation Center Expansion with Splash Pad
  • Relocation of the Historic Hahnewald Barn site of old Town Hall, as a multi-use facility.  Demolition of the old Town Hall would be needed to facilitate the relocation
  • Development of a new cultural, educational and/or entrepreneurial center at the 351 Benchmark Property (old fire station)
  • Seasonal chilled ice rink
  • Game plaza
  • New bicycle pump track and pickleball courts on the lower soccer field of Nottingham Park
Wildridge Fire Station and Wildwood Parcel:
  • Addition of attainable worker housing units
Lot E Village at Avon: 
  • Dog Park near Post Boulevard
