BEN HARPER AND THE INNOCENT CRIMINALS IN CONCERT AT THE AVON PERFORMANCE PAVILION SEPTEMBER 15TH

Avon, CO – Avon welcomes Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals (BHIC) to its Performance Pavilion on September 15th.  The evening concert will be one of the last of two concerts in the United States, by the acclaimed artist, before the band continues on to New Caledonia and French Polynesia on its world tour.

TICKETS:  The event venue offers tickets ranging from $35.00 to $145.00, with both lawn and seated sections. Section P1, with premier chair seating in front of the stage, is expected to sell out in the next couple of days.  P3 also offers chair seating.  Sections P4 – P6 provide for lawn seating, with ample room for blankets and low backed chairs.

Mr. Harper is well recognized for his contributions to environmental causes and other charities. In recognition of listeners and fans, who have also made contributions to non-profit organizations in the past year, the I GIVE campaign offers reduced price tickets through September 14th.  Two tickets may be purchased in section P5 for $50.00, plus small administrative fees. No proof of giving is required—just your honesty in purchasing the tickets.

BEN HARPER INTRODUCES HEY, KING AS THE EVENING OPENER:  Hey, King! is a self-described raucous indie rock band led by Natalie London and Taylor Plecity.  In a late summer evening in 2016, London and Plecity had to opportunity to play for Mr. Harper.  He subsequently produced Hey, King’s forthcoming E.P.  London describes what this has meant by writing that Ben Harper changed their lives forever.  He added “his undeniable touch to every instrument and every track; collaborating on arrangements, laying down his irreplaceable slide guitar, and playing everything from the harmonium to the hammer-dulcimer”.  Mr. Harper and the Avon audience will welcome Hey, King to the Pavilion stage at 6:30 p.m. as the BHIC opener.

BEN HARPER CONCERT AFTER PARTY:  Following the concert, Montana’s Smokehouse will host an official after party from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. DJ Weez, from KZYR, will spin rock, reggae, and hip-hop. The event is free and party-goers wearing a BHIC wristband will receive a free drink (beer, cocktail, soft drink, etc.).  The official party will be the perfect way to continue celebrating a night of live music. Montana’s Steakhouse is located at 82 East Beaver Creek Boulevard, in Avon.

NOTTINGHAM PARK CLOSURE:  Please be advised Nottingham Park will be closed from the western edge of the beach area to Lake Street from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  The Park closure will include the beach, sand volleyball courts, public restrooms, playground and the park lawn areas north and south of the pedestrian path. In addition, the pedestrian path will be closed except to those using it as a thoroughfare. All other areas of Nottingham Park will remain open until 10:00 p.m.  The Recreation Center’s western lawn will be closed as well.
