Avon LIVE! Concerts in the Park: Wednesday, August 16th

Mipso-Polaroids-v2

Avon, CO – The Avon Performance Pavilion, at Harry A. Nottingham Park, will be the place to be on August 16th for a free community concert benefiting Speak Up Reach Out.  Mipso headlines the August 16th show, with Ages & Ages opening the evening’s live music.  Music begins at 5:30 p.m.

Concert & Event Specials:  The concert is free to the public and will feature a Family Happy Hour offering half-price food between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.  Mouth-watering options include grilled cheese and tomato soup, savory dinner crepes and freshly baked donuts. Attendees are invited to Enter to WIN one of three pairs of Skull Candy Bluetooth Headphones between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. at the merchandise tent.  The Kids Zone will be open during the event and features face painting and the much heralded, Cave of Confusion, which is a 3D interactive maze.  A collection of fresh brews from Coors Light, Coors Banquet, Blue Moon, Leinenkugel Summer Shandy and Native craft beers, refreshing spirits and non-alcoholic beverages will be sold.

The Bands:  Mipso is a quartet influenced by the contradiction of their progressive home and surrounding rural southern landscapes. Mipso ventures far and wide to discover a broader Americana, where classic folk-rock and modern alt-country sounds mingle easily with Appalachian tradition. Ages & Ages opens the evening.  Hailing from Portland, Oregon, their upbeat, big tent revival sound will have audiences on their feet and dancing in the park.

Benefit for Speak Up Reach Out:  The Town of Avon and Peak Performances are proud to be raising awareness for the important work of Speak Up Reach Out during the evening’s events.  The organization is dedicated to the prevention of suicide through education, training and hope.
